    Who is responsible for data collecting and processing?

    What data do we collect and how and why do we process your data?

    Activities on social networks

    You can find us in various social media with our own presence. Our aim here is to provide you with a wide range of multimedia content and to engage with you on topics that are important to you. In addition to the respective social network provider, we also collect and process personal data on our pages on the platforms. In this notice, we inform you about what data we collect from you on our social media sites, how we use it, the purposes and what rights you are entitled to. The respective data processing purposes and data categories are described separately below for the respective presences on the social media platforms. 

    YouTube

    The YouTube channel “DB E.C.O. Group” moving image contributions to be shown in an environment with an individual corporate design. The films are tailored to the target group, explain complex interrelationships and help to explain the work of the companies in the DB E.C.O. Group, including DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH. 

    Personal data will be stored and processed by Google LLC (“Google”), Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, as the operator of YouTube, in accordance with Google’s privacy policy. You can find the privacy policy by Google here.

    LinkedIn

    On the LinkedIn channel “DB E.C.O. Group” channel you will find insights into DB E.C.O. Group projects, information on vacancies and recruiting events. Our team is available to answer any questions you may have. We also use the channel to actively search for candidates. You can find more information on the active candidate search here.

    When you visit or follow our company page on the LinkedIn platform, LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland, as the operator of LinkedIn, processes personal data in order to provide us with data on page usage and interaction for the purpose of designing our page to meet your needs and continuously optimizing it with the Page Insights statistics service. You can find LinkedIn’s privacy policy here.

    In particular, LinkedIn processes data that you have provided to LinkedIn yourself, such as information about your nationality, industry, length of service, etc. from your profile. In addition, LinkedIn processes personal data about how you have interacted with our company page. 

    Furthermore, DB E.C.O. Group and other DB companies display advertisements on LinkedIn. We receive aggregated statistics on advertising playout from LinkedIn. For the associated control of target groups via the LinkedIn Campaign Manager (LinkedIn Ads), it can be assumed on the basis of the case law of the European Court of Justice that there is joint responsibility between the respective advertising DB company and LinkedIn with regard to the data collection and analysis by LinkedIn associated with the advertising playout. 

    We use the Page Insights statistics service for the purpose of designing and continuously optimizing our pages to meet your needs. The service records your activity on our site and makes it available to us in anonymized statistics. This provides us with information about page views, page impressions, the reach of posts (both organic and paid content), post interactions, video views and information about the countries and cities from which our visitors come. 

    The Page Insights provided to us in this way consist of anonymized, aggregated data. Notwithstanding the existence of a joint controller, we do not receive any personal data from you in relation to Page Insights and it is not possible for us to link Page Insights to individual members. 

    LinkedIn protects the processing of personal data when providing Page Insights by implementing appropriate technical and organizational measures. Further information about the Page Insights can be found here.

    You can exercise your rights as a data subject within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation via your account settings or by contacting LinkedIn directly. 

    In this regard, a joint controllership agreement has been entered into with LinkedIn in accordance with Art. 26 (2) GDPR, which regulates the details of joint controllership and which you can find here.

    For promotional campaigns, our employees can post curated content from DB E.C.O. Group using DB’s own PowerPoint templates. 

    The legal basis for processing in this case is our overriding legitimate interest in marketing communication within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.

    Will data be passed on?

    The provision of our offer generally requires the involvement of processors who are dependent on instructions, such as data center operators or other parties. 

    External service providers who process data on our behalf are carefully selected by us and strictly bound by contract. The service providers work in accordance with our instructions, which is ensured by strict contractual regulations, technical and organizational measures and supplementary controls. 

    Your data will only be transmitted if you have given us your express consent to do so or on the basis of a legal regulation. 

    Social networks

    Please note that when LinkedIn and YouTube process data, user data may be processed outside the European Union. This may result in risks for users because, for example, the enforcement of users’ rights could be made more difficult. For details, please refer to the privacy statements of LinkedIn and YouTube. With regard to US providers that are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, we would like to point out that they undertake to comply with EU data protection standards. 

    We do not transfer data to third countries outside the EU/EEA or to an international organization unless appropriate safeguards are in place. These include the EU standard contractual clauses as well as an adequacy finding by the EU Commission. 

    When will your data be deleted?

    If we have collected personal data from you, we will only store it for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected (e.g. as part of a contractual relationship) or if this is required by law. For example, we store your data in the context of a contractual relationship at least until the contract is fully terminated. The data will then be stored for the duration of the statutory retention period. 

    What rights do you have?

    • You can request information about what data is stored about you. 
    • You can request the correction, deletion and restriction of processing (blocking) of your personal data as long as this is permitted by law and within the framework of an existing contractual relationship. 
    • If you believe that the processing of personal data violates data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular pursuant to Art. 77 (1) of the GDPR.     • You have the right to the portability of data that you have provided to us on the basis of consent or a contract (data portability). 
    • Withdrawal of consent: If you have given us your consent to data processing, you can withdraw it at any time by the same means by which it was given. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. 
    • Right of objection: You can object to the data processing for reasons arising from your particular situation, if the data processing is based on our legitimate interests or is necessary for the performance of public tasks. 
    • You can object to being contacted for advertising purposes at any time with effect for the future (advertising objection).

    With regard to data processing on social networks, we recommend that you contact the respective social network directly in the event of requests for information or other questions about user rights, such as a deletion request, as only LinkedIn and YouTube has/have full access to your data. If you no longer wish the data processing described here to take place in future, you can remove the link between your profile and our site by using the “I no longer like this page” and/or “No longer subscribe to this page” functions.
