It has chosen DB Engineering &amp; Consulting, part of the DB E.C.O. Group, as a strategic partner to broaden its knowledge and its educational offerings on railways in Colombia. Not only will EMB design and build the railway and metro lines belonging to the Bogot\u00e1 Integrated Transport System, but it will also operate, manage, and maintain them. Its overarching goal is to improve the quality of life and contribute to the development and urban renewal of the city by providing an efficient, sustainable, and user-friendly transportation service. In the program, which has a duration of 50 hours, participants from EMB will be able to deepen their knowledge of topics such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Railway and Metro Systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Railway and Metro Components<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rail RAMS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rolling stock: characteristics and new developments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Operation and digitization of infrastructure assets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/db-engineering-consulting.com\/en\/insights\/bim-building-information-modeling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BIM<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading headline-h3\"><strong><strong>Revitalizing the railway sector in Colombia<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>With its <a href=\"https:\/\/colaboracion.dnp.gov.co\/CDT\/Prensa\/Plan-Maestro-Ferroviario.pdf\">publication of the Railway Master Plan in 2020<\/a>, the Colombian government formalized its intention to revitalize Colombia\u2019s railway sector, viewing it as an essential step toward boosting the country\u2019s competitiveness and driving sustainable growth. The plan has clear goals such as a 26% reduction in transport costs by 2030, synchronizing logistics chains, attracting foreign investment, strengthening transport services for goods and raw materials, and increasing the country\u2019s competitiveness indexes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, passenger transport and mixed traffic projects are also to be prioritized. There are currently around ten passenger transport projects in Colombia, three of which are under construction:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.metrodebogota.gov.co\/?q=que-es-metro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bogot\u00e1 Metro Line 1<\/a>, one of the longest first lines on the continent at 23.9 km<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.efr-cundinamarca.gov.co\/es\/regiotram\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Regiotram de Occidente<\/a>, a 100% electric light rail line that will connect Bogot\u00e1 with the western part of the Bogot\u00e1 savanna<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/metrodela80.gov.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Metro 80<\/a>, a light rail system in Medell\u00edn<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading headline-h3\"><strong><strong>A pioneering training program in Colombia<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The railway training program is the first to be provided to an entity such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metrodebogota.gov.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EMB<\/a>. A unique feature of the program is that it will be certified by a prestigious educational institution like <a href=\"https:\/\/unal-edu-co.translate.goog\/?_x_tr_sl=es&amp;_x_tr_tl=en&amp;_x_tr_hl=es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the National University of Colombia<\/a>, and it is the first <a href=\"https:\/\/db-engineering-consulting.com\/en\/productportfolio\/consulting\/mobilty-and-logistics-consulting\/#db-rail-academy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DB Rail Academy training program<\/a> to be conducted in Colombia. As an international vocational training and professional development provider created by DB E&amp;C, <a href=\"https:\/\/railacademy.deutschebahn.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DB Rail Academy<\/a> offers railway expertise worldwide and helps railway operators, regulatory agencies, and industry customers in more than 30 countries to expand their training and professional development capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The international experience and in-depth technical knowledge of the expert trainers who will teach in the program were crucial factors in forming this alliance.
